Recently, I had the opportunity to go to the Chinese Lantern Festival.
Okay, to be honest, I'm using the term "recently" rather loosely since it's been a couple of months. But, I promise, the photos are still awesome!
At least I think so, anyway :P
This was the entrance. WHAT a cool way to welcome guests. The straight, then curved lines of the lanterns, all one color......I could have spent the entire time in this walkway getting different shots.
Always have and always will enjoy getting shots like. They are not really that creative, and I'm almost letting the phone do the work for me. But seriously, everyone has their phone out for pictures these days. I may as well take advantage.
Okay so this next series of 4 shots me being a complete photo-dork. Here I am surrounded by all these amazing light fixtures and statues, and I decided to spend 15 minutes photographing the ceiling lights on the deck.
Yep, these were simple fixtures, but I started playing with long exposures while either panning the camera, zooming in/out, or both.
And then, since they were like chandeliers, I pointed straight up at a couple and zoomed out after 1-2 seconds of holding still (ish).
They are a little psychedelic, but were really fun to capture and edit to bring out the colors.
My brother being funny :)
My family went through another tunnel of lights, but I stayed on the outside to get shots of them through the lighting to add a bit of layering.
This dragon was really long. The best way I could display this was through a panorama.
It wouldn't be me if I didn't try to fit at least one B&W in here :)
